Lake Steward Program:

The Lake Steward patrols the lakes in the watershed, educating the public about boating safety, invasive plants, wildlife protection, and shorefront erosion. The steward responds to complaints such as harassment of loons, wake zone violations, and invasive plants on boat trailers.

The steward primarily encourages compliance with both IF&W boating and invasive aquatic species laws, distributes educational information, and may occasionally notify authorities of egregious violations. The Lake Steward does not have arrest or gun-carrying powers.
